Going Away / On Vacation
Would I be ok leaving my bp alone for the week if I went away? After maybe feeding him right before I leave, and leaving him a full bowl or two of water, would he be ok? Any other issues I might need to worry about, if I go away and leave my ball home alone?

For an adult I would skip the prior week's feeding so that he doesn't make a mess while you're away.
Multiple water bowls, that way if he makes a mess in one there will be other sources of clean water.
I would have someone come in mid-week to check on him.

Yep. Skip feeding.. Extra water and make sure your heating situation is dialed in and stable. Make sure you trust your thermostat.

I would probably have an IP cam set up on the guy (or gal) so I can keep checking up on him from my phone. And, if I can find it somewhere, would like to see if I can get a "smart" ip-connected thermostat (with maybe humidity gauge) that I can have send me alerts either on a regular basis or only if something is wrong.

If you have someone close to you that you trust, ask them to check up on your snake and make sure everything is good.

Lots of friends nearby, but no one, to my knowledge, that likes snakes. Being that this is my first, though, that might change, after I start showing him off, and dispel the common myth that snakes bite and are dangerous.

You can leave for a week but do not feed the night before, should there be an issue and the animal regurgitate the last thing you want to do is come home to that.
I cease all feedings a week prior to any trip.

I didn't leave a week but left 3 days before and I turned the room light off and pulled the curtain part way opened so natural day light and darkness would come into the room giving the snake an approximate 12 hr day/12 night cycle.
PS- I've found they really do like to sleep in the day(light) time and come out at night. You really notice it more with a glass (or see through tank.) I put a red bulb in the room light socket sometimes ( like last night ) and would wake up and watch Mr. Teacup (with his new fresh from shed size which is getting fairly large) stretch and raise himself all around the tank and explore. I have a blue light heat light on Tstat on the tank. Most the time that is the only light in the room at night unless I put the red bulb in the room light socket.
