Where do you find Dumeril's ???

Title says it all.. I'm exploring options for a new addition, and man.. I can't seem to find any that aren't fully grown. I'm not dead set on a hatchling, but I can only find full on adults available.

I got my little girl from my local reptile shop. She was about 2 months old when I got her. You could check FaunaClassifieds.com or Kingsnake.com or join the FB groups Dumeril Boa Lovers and Dumeril Boas USA. Just make sure when/if you get one, that it is eating well as some neonates can be problem feeders. Here is little Luna posing for the camera lol.

Re: Where do you find Dumeril's ???

Ohh I love her!! Where I live there aren't any reptile shops so that's out. I've been causally browsing kingsnake and faunaclassifieds. I did request a join to the fb group just now. I'm not ready to buy just yet, but I was surprised how it seems that they aren't quite easy to find.

Yeah. I actually didn't plan on purchasing a dumerils but my reptile shop where I buy all my snakes food, the owner gal has a couple dumeril females she is breeding so when I went up there, she pulled this little from the back room and showed me how chunky she was lol. So I told her to sell her to me and she did lol. She eats like a horse too haha. I think the best bet will be the FB groups honestly.

Dumerils don't hatch, boas are live-bearers. This is the end of the pairing season for adult Dums, babies will be showing up in late summer/early fall.

You may still find some 2016's available on Fauna or Kingsnake, or in the Facebook group "Dumerils Boa Lovers".

Re: Where do you find Dumeril's ???

Well.. I feel silly. I promise I know enough about boas to know that they're live bearers.... awwkwarrdd haha! I'm totally fine with a 2016. I'm just so surprised that there'e this like.. drought, but then again I suppose it does make perfect sense. I've been casually looking for a young columbian too and those are also seemingly non-existent. Thank you!

Its ok. You'll learn like we all did. Boas give live birth and babies are called neonates. Pythons lay eggs and babies are called hatchlings.
