So very sorry to hear this. This just breaks my heart for you.

It's now been almost 7 years that I've held my soul dog while he was being set free and to this day its a stab in the heart just thinking about it.

    You are in my thoughts.

    Words just aren't enough..

    Awesome Dog! Good Girl!

Your story made me cry because I put down my 13 year old Sheltie at home with sleeping pills because she was having seizures twice daily and her medication wasn't working. I got my snakes after her, but I could imagine her being that friendly to just lick the snakes and chase them around than harm them in any way.
Imagine a 13 pound little Lassie chasing snakes... that makes me smile!

Awe that's so sad about the Sheltie ... We had a Tri-
colour Sheltie in between our two Irish Setters , on family trips out she used to naturally 'herd up' our two little kids so when one went away from the family exploring ( usually the youngest - our little boy) - she used to follow them very closely until he came back into the fold ...

So sorry you have to go thru this. I had to do that many years ago so I know how you feel.

    Godspeed to Hailey!!!!

She will be out of pain now. You can take comfort in knowing that you gave her 13 wonderful years.
