    Sharing! New hatchling retic

    Greetings,
just to share my new addition to the family! a normal Hatchling Retic given by a friend of mine, seems to be wildcaught. Its a she btw, with a friendly temperament, calmed down after afew handling session.

What's you guys opinion on the possible locality of it? I'm trying to get a general picture on how shes gonna turn out, nevertheless i love her colours! btw she has a very slight tint of yellow below the chin to neck area too

    Here's the pics:

( Ignore the dirty cage, was about to clean it)

Nice. She's a wild type but definitely not wild caught since retics haven't legally been imported for almost two years now.

Beautiful. Wild/natural color and patterns are my bag!

But not wild caught is my guess as well.

If it is a SHE it will be big.

Awesome! Is that 100% mainland? If so, that's way more snake than I can handle!!! Once it's full size you'll need 2-3 people to handle it, can't really do it alone.

    Re: Sharing! New hatchling retic

Thanks for the compliment guys! yeap i agree she's gorgeous! , i only can assume a "She" since i did a popping test and no hemipenes was seen! I come from South-East Asia so there's a chances that she's WC.

Spent some time today handling her to calm her down after seeing her opening mouth and striking! , time for more frequent handling.

Her colour was pretty dark today thou does you guys retics changes colour into darker/lighter shades too?

Here's two photo i took previously right after shed, hope you guys likes it!

Retics are awesome. Such big personality.

Yes they lighten and darken depending on how they feel. Caesar gets fired up sometimes and looks like he is almost glowing lol.

Nice looking little whatever he/she is

And like mentioned, you are going to be in for a big snake probably. Caesar my male SD just turned 9 months old 3 days ago and he is already 5' and eating a large rat every 10 days. But he is a pig lol.

    Sharing! New hatchling retic

Will you be providing hides for the new Retic ?? Just wondering . ..

This may seem appear controversial and I've mentioned this previously but I've been told , over the years , by a few very experienced people not to give Retics / Burms / Boas hides BUT provide safe places / areas by strategically placed branches . I've had great success following this advice . My hatchling Dwarf SunGlow boa is a lovely little thing now who started off rather nervous and my 7' Snow Boa is the softest , most placid snake I have . There is a belief that hides whilst being great for many species , Royals being a good example are not always the best idea for Retics , Burms and Boas ...

None of my Boas , the Retic or the Burm have hides per-see . ... they just have branches to hide in or behind if they so wish and are all lovely and placid , thankfully
