Does anyone raise feeder rabbits?
So I'm thinking of moving up from rats to rabbits with my dwarf retic now that she is about 10 pounds and growing fast. Is there anyone out there raising rats and rabbits to compare them side by side? My rats produce like crazy and grow super fast, just wondering how rabbits compare. I'm thinking that rabbits may get too big for my dwarf retic, wondering if I should get some that max out at a smaller size, maybe a mini rabbit that only gets to be a few pounds... I used to raise rabbits about 35 years ago but I can't remember how fast they grow and how fast they multiply, how many babies they have, how fast the babies grow compared to rats, etc... The only down side I can think of is that they stink a lot more LOL.

I'd just keep it on Rats to be honest the Rabbits can be a pain to growup once there born

Rabbits average around 6 per litter, smell tons worse than rats, way messier, more violent when they decide to be, more likely to abandon babies, about the same amount of time to reach adult size. Pregnancy is about a month, maybe a bit more. Rabbits are not worth it if the snake is still small enough for rats... rabbits are a huge pain in the butt

Quail
I would go with quail. Very nutritious, easy & cheap to raise, reproduce & they don't smell much. The eggs are outstanding as well.
