Quick Transfer To A Smaller Tank
Hello, I transferred my 2 month old Western Hoggie to a 10 gallon tank from a 30 gallon tank this morning before work. I recently bought an un-used 10 gallon terrarium (it isn't cleaned), and I put the heat pad (8 watt) on the bottom covering 2/3 of the tank.
This is my first snake, so I'm super paranoid all the time, lol. Will she be fine until her next cleaning (next month)? I don't want to stress her out too much by taking her out all the time. Thanks!

I was in a hurry whilst writing this, so excuse my mistakes, if any.

Just so I make sure I'm understanding this. You're asking if you can put your hognose in a 10 gallon tank that hasn't been cleaned even though it's new/unused? I would take the time to clean it out regardless of whether it's new because it's not worth the risk. Further, I wouldn't keep her in a 10 gallon tank. That's too big for such a small snake. A 6qt tub would be much better but at the end of the day it's personal preference. As long as she's eating and doesn't show any signs of stress that's what matters most.

Sorry, I was being super paranoid, haha. She is currently being housed in a 20 Gallon Long tank, and has been eating extremely well weekly. No signs of stress unless I'm going in her tank to scoop her up. It also provides a great temperature gradient. Thanks for the help!
Closed thread, is my point. 😉

Re: Quick Transfer To A Smaller Tank
She seems to really thrive in what she has currently, so I'm going to stick with what she has. ☺
