They're not rescues but I love them. Saint Gibson the Saint Bernard and Ghost The German Shepherd.

This is my Alyssum. She was surrendered to me at the veterinary hospital where I used to work when she was 7 months old. Her original owner lost his house to foreclosure and abandoned his 5 outdoor-only dogs to starve to death in the backyard. After a week, the neighbors hopped the fence and rescued the dogs. Alyssum was very sick and the person who took her in could not afford to treat her, so I accepted her and got her better. And she decided I was the only safe person, so it made it impossible to rehome her. After all, it's hard to say to someone "Please adopt this small dog that is going to cower from you and growl at you constantly, yes I know she seems fine with me and she is, but she doesn't like you so please adopt her."

The day after I got her, doing her "peta poster"

Depending on how I shave her, she can look like so many different breeds. It also takes me a few days to recognise her after shaving her.

Mostly Full fluff (I have to keep her face shaved so she can *see*):

Keeping the ears (some) and tail (and the beard because I love her beard):

Alyssum, where did your ears GO???

Many years ago my Father rescued a small Terrier of some sort from the city dump. She turned out like Allysum ^^^^^. She would hide under my Father's bed all day. When he came home from work she would come out dance on two legs and then stick to him. She would not come out for anyone else the dozen or so years that we had her.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Tommy, the tri-color beagle, and Gimli/Gimmi, the red and white beagle, came from a beagle rescue group. Pippin is a husky mix, (size and tail aren't quite all husky, but personality is) who came from a local shelter.
