My snake is a bit, too active?

Recently Sammy has been roaming his cage. A lot. His hides are the same, temps are fine, I think he's stressed out. How can I cure this and make him go back to the BP that hides all day? He's eating, pooping, and drinking. He's located in a closet where nobody besides a family member and me go into (Not a lot though since we have work). He seems to be wanting to escape his tub by putting his head up at the lid. I'm concerned for Sammy

I wouldn't worry. Sometimes they just do that. As long as he is eating and passing he is prob good to go.

Calliope often does the same thing. It's no health problem, it just means your snake is curious and wants to get out a little more. Holding him and letting him explore more might put him back into his calm moods. My BP will roam her cage until I pick her up, and if she isn't ready to be put back, when I put her back, she tries to climb my arm to escape, poor girl.

Have you checked the temps especially under the warm hide ? I had a similar thing a few years ago and when I took a reading using a digital temperature gun the temps were over a 100 and even the cool side was high 80's . The thermostat had failed / jammed !!!

It maybe nothing at all but worth checking ..

How often do you feed Sammy? Is it an appropriately sized prey item for the snake's size? A lot of cage-cruising can sometimes indicate a hungry BP on the hunt. Just bear in mind that cage-cruising is not exactly the same as climbing the walls or trying to escape so if you're seeing more escaping-type behavior than this might not be the issue...

Another question is, how big is his cage and how big is he? Maybe it's also getting to be time for an upgrade?

He's in a 15qt and weighs 550 grams. I'm aware that he should be going into a 28qt by now. I don't want to upgrade him yet since I'm getting a rack soon that fits v-35 (similar size to a 28qt) tubs. So I don't know if it would be a good idea to upgrade him now.

Seems roughly appropriate. As long as his body condition is decent I imagine it's not a hunger issue.
