    Re: Poop or regurge?

What type of snake was it that had this episode? It does look like mostly fur. Most colubrids have issues and difficulties digesting fur. Especially very furry prey items. Really not the problem with boas and pythons though.

    Was a 450ish-g ball python

Also, I've just brought him up from eating pups to weaned rats. This wasn't his first time eating that size, maybe the 3rd time

    Re: Poop or regurge?

In that case I would lean more towards the regurgitation. Also I would skip the next scheduled feedings and mix some lactobacillus/acidophilus into his drinking water for the next two weeks or so. And monitor your temps and humidity.

same here, in both my boas and bps from time to time. Not in the poop but with it or by itself.
Doesn't look like regurg to me (and I've sadly dealt with that a few times as well).

I've seen hair clumps like that eliminated from my BP as well. No noticeable smell, didn't seem like a regurge at the time. Monitoring and proceeding as if it's a regurge certainly won't hurt anything, but personally I wouldn't be too worried unless you see continuing issues.

    Re: Poop or regurge?

So funny to me - I have a smooth collie (my third collie) but just got my first BP.

Meant to reply to the pic with the collies in it - obviously the poop/possible regurge is not funny! Hope the snake is OK!
