What exactly are you wanting to use the gloves for?

Instead of a hook when they are either close to shedding or Spring loaded & moody id rather throw on some gloves, scoop them & get to cleaning... 90% of the time id never use them... last night my male made a hell of a mess so i had to clean the enclosure and his eyes are clouded good so he strikes out in every direction possible not to mention hangs onto his hide or anything else he cam get whole of. The hook does work, but id prefer hands on to get things done

Most of the bites I have taken are above the wrist.
You also have to think of the possibility of them breaking off a tooth in a glove.

Do you have a suggestion or do you think sticking with the hook at that time is the best bet?

That's rare however when wearing a glove it is much more likely to happen and abscess from a lost or infected tooth which could happen in this case are a lot more costly than you getting tagged, you are dealing with a BP here not a burm or a retic

BP rarely bite and when they do it only feel like a paper cut especially when we are talking about defensive bite which are a quick tag and release....and yes I have been bit by BP (all sizes from 60 grams to 4000 grams, in my case they were feeding strikes and my fault and I survived ) I have also been bit by things far worse than BP as well.

Learn your snake body language and if it is in a striking position make it snap out of it, it's that simple and can be accomplished with a used roll of paper towel r a spray bottle.

    Protection Gloves?

I have adult Carpets, Boas, and a BP. If they are in in feeding mode and I need to clean before feeding, I just gently guide their heads away with a paper towel roll. Sometimes it takes 3-4 prods, but it always shuts them down.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

    Re: Protection Gloves?

Honestly the Burm hiss's like crazy but hasnt stuck in 15 years unless it was over food... These little (Baby) BP's are a pain in the neck when they get snappin and im trying to do something in the enclosure...I understand they dont hurt, I trained my 3 dogs with Bite Sleeves. I dont want them to get a infection in their mouths though so the hook or I'll try that paper towel holder to chill them out... Ive also used a plastic coat hanger (better than wire because it isnt sharp) to snap them out of the Tuff Guy act..
Any thanks for the info, better safe than sorry.
