I was sooooooo nervous about feeding my delicate little baby BP for the first time (he was fed before I owned him OFC) and I read all of these tutorials and stuff, and watched tons of videos and totally soaked up this forum, and I totally thought I was gonna gag.. but man, even just picking up those F/T mice at the pet store, I was just like, this is way less grotesque than I thought! You can sort of tell by the way they look, I mean they look like they fell asleep and were just frozen. I thought I would be waving this corpse around like trying to make a sick zombie walk but I really didn't even notice- and I had pet rodents for years! I had a super trusty rat friend when I was younger and although I was allergic to him, I handled him with gloves until he died of cancer, and he was super obedient and tame, would sit on my shoulder and stuff... it really didn't bother me!

IN FACT- the first feeding I've ever done was REALLY REALLY COOL! I loved seeing my snake work in his animalistic way! And one of the things that I've always found lovely about snakes is that they really are sort of display animals, I mean, BPs can be shy but they are really gorgeous things and just to see it move so quickly and its prey instinct so vivid, and even the way it curled around it, I totally felt exhilarated! I was also worried about my little guy being stressed out and uncomfortable in his new home so I was really excited to see him eat right away and also to know that he's a super easy feeder. It was a really neat experience and I've been wanting to gush about it since it happened but like, nobody I know RL has snakes hahaha.

It's life - but life is amazing. It's not just the constricting or even just snakes...nature is just amazing

Yes, constrictors are way cool. My favorite part is how they strike so lightning fast, then grab and coil, then crush the living crap out of the prey, and then swallow it whole. Yes, it is awesome. I prefer feeding live, as it is natural and raw, and I enjoy watching a predator do its thing. I don't feel bad for the rats. Kill the rats, and crush them to death in seconds, it is cool.
I have always liked pythons and big constrictors since I was a little kid. (I feed frozen/thawed to save money, it is convenient, and safer for the snakes)

I name my pythons after dragons, since they are so fearsome and powerful. Except my male killer pied, he is named after Chuck Norris, because my killer pied is EVEN MORE FEARSOME AND POWERFUL THAN A DRAGON!

The predatory aspect of snakes is my favorite thing about them, they are so bad ass that even without legs they are one of nature's most efficient and effective hunters.

Some snakes can lie in wait, for days, maybe even weeks, not moving, perfectly camouflaged untill their prey comes along. Other track down their prey, hunting it down with their amazing sense of smell, able to follow it almost anywhere. Some use deadly venom, some crush the life out of their prey, a few even shake it and beat it to death.

There is no group of animal on earth that snakes can't eat... so yeah, it's definitely cool.

What's crazy is that they eat their prey whole and it comes out looking like it does - i would not want to be in a snake stomach.

I've always been fascinated by how quickly mice and rats learn. I feed my snakes 2 per feeding and when I drop them in the enclosure they are care free and explore the enclosure. They even climb over the snake like it's not even there, until one gets snatched, then the other finds a corner, trembles in fear and basically plays dead

That is so very sad and terrifying for the rodent.
You should only introduce one live feeder at a time.

I stopped feeding that way but only for the safety of the snakes

blood was dribbling down. it was pretty cool. i wish i grabbed a vid or gif'ed it. it was an cool second death for the rodent!

That's one of the troubles with rubs imho .. I have no idea what morph that is at all -looks to have an interesting pattern for sure but it seems a waste of a presumably beautiful snake .

Also , I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the death of anything being described as cool tbh
