Great pictures. Shikara has a nice pattern. Just wondering if when you feed her, if you just stick both snake and rat in an empty tank. Now I'm not sure about this since I don't feed live, but I think it may be safer if you have a place in the enclosure for your bp to hide. All the open space may make the rat more aggressive. I hope someone else chimes in here, just to make sure. Feeding live is great but as long as it's done safetly.

    Re: My Shikara

That was my first time feeding him. I have never seen it up-close-and-personal before and really wanted to. All the feeds from this point on will be fresh kill or frozen/thaw. My husband and I were within a couple of feet of the feed tank. We were both prepared to take action to separate Shikara and the rat if the rat started getting aggressive. Shikara did great though. We put the rat in the tank and it went into the corner. Then I let Shikara sllither into the tank. He stayed in the opposite corner for a few minutes then slowly inched accross the tank. The rat started to shake at first then acted like he wasn't concerned with the snake. Shikara inched forward and struck. The rat didn't even know what hit him. Heck the rat hardly made a sound. I was told that Shikara had be fed this way all his life so I didn't want to change anything. Besides I was a bit nervous and didn't want any obstacles in case I had to reach in a separate them.
