    Craigslist opportunity

I recently have been wanting to get back into the hobby. I was in the hobby about 10 years ago with a friend and let him take over as I pursued other things.

Now I am in a spot with my life that I can actually get back into the hobby and enjoy it whereas when I was younger it was about making money blah blah blah.

Long story short, I saw a ad on craigslist (yeah I am aware of the risk that comes with craigslist) with a person selling 2016 babies. We got into a debate on his prices and he has now realized that one or two gene morphs are not going to sell what they used to 10 years ago. (Rookie sellers I tell ya). Anywho, he is currently trying to sell:

    Female enchi
    Female pastel
    Male butter ghost
    Female hidden gene woma
    Female ghost

Now he was asking 530 and like I said was clearly out of his mind. He is now down to 280.

Since I have been out of the hobby for a bit. I am curious as to what you all think of the price. I still think it's a bit high.

The other thing I question to myself is, do I really want to do ghost projects. It appears that the ghost gene is not as popular as I thought??? Or am I way off on that?

    $280 for all five?

That's seems like a good price to me. I say this without seeing the snakes of course so that may sway my opinion one way or the other.

I don't think I can help you with the breeding question. Im no BP morph expert and breeding them is not my thing. My Bloods, ETB, or GTP....maybe.....one day.

I do know I saw a Hidden Gene Woma recently that I really had to fight the urge on. Ive always been happy with my one normal BP and like having a diverse group but the one I ran across just struck me. If I hadn't just recently got the ETB it might have gone different.

You LEO? Profile says CO but the pics tells me LEO. I am. Seem to be that last active member that is. At one point we had about 4 that I knew were but they slowly trickled away only stopping in from time to time and then hardly at all.

The initial $530 was a fair price.
What are the weights if the animals in question?

The original price of $530 was fair, $280 is a steal.

    Food for the thoughts

If you want to come back to this hobby to one day sell animals you should.

Have a goal, know what you want to produce instead of going for something that is a deal, doing so is a guaranteed collection sell within the next 2 years.

Know the market. There is a market for all animals (there are also different market levels) however whether your animal will sell or not will have to do with what you produce and how you market yourself.

    Buy top shelf quality.

Believe in a strong market (Believing $280 is still high does not reflect that, this group is worth $500).

Yeah, I'm LEO, I have been for 2 years now. Was a CO for a while when I was really young 19, and 20. I got out of that and went into sales and learned how to actually talk to people and get what I want, ha. (Similar to the craigslist ad ) Landed the LEO job and that has been great so far. Federal is the ultimate goal though.

Deborah is right. Have a goal, and then plan your purchases. I can see the point of buying a single pet as a pet, but to buy a whole collection when you aren't even sure if you want to work with it?

Personally, I think looking for deals gets distracting. Figure out what you want, and search that out. The odd *deal* almost NEVER advances the plan.
