    visit from black racer

Does gazing out the living room window and seeing a snake slithering up the sidewalk qualify as field herping? got a visit from this little black racer the other day. he was headed for a lamp post that had a couple of anoles perched on top.

That's closer to field herping than the Garter I found in my house last week.

well, I guess that makes me a more adventurous field herper than you. I actually had to leave the house (but not the yard) to snap this photo. the only snakes that weren't mine I ever found in the house are brahminy blind snakes (sometimes by the dozen in the spring). The GF found a garter on the patio about a year ago, which I had to remove before the cats found him. corns, kings, ringnecks around the yard. I'm like a six year old on Christmas morning every time I see a wild snake.

I don't know about that. Being I have wildlife in my house doesn't that make me pretty adventurous. Your wildlife is outside your house. What fun is that!?!

oh. it's on now! I'm going to get the sledge hammer and knock some holes in the exterior walls and smash some windows right now. I'll have all kinds of wildlife in the house in the morning. sure, it will be mostly insects and burglars, but I need to keep up.
