what does your snake cage look like?

The problem with that is the snake cannot move it. Sounds crazy I know, but snakes actually can and do move hides a few inches across newspaper. When under the hide they inch up closer to the cool, or hot, end of it and it moves in that preferred direction.

Believe me, having them partially buried in substrate doesn't stop Yigg from scooting them around. He can't push them across the tank or anything but he does fine when it comes to thermoregulation. So not actually a problem at all !

That looks like a promising aquarium setup. But be prepared to have to accommodate for low humidity.

I have a humidifier in my room and it keeps the room at the proper humidity and I'm planing to get rid of the eco carpet.

Is there cling-wrap covering the screen? Have the sheds been in 1 piece?

No l have a plexiglass for the top if i open the window but i have the humidifier that keeps my room at the proper humidity level I like a humid room anyway lol.

I know they "recommend" 50% for humidity. But I assure you. If you can get it to 65-70%, you'll never have an issue with sheds. That's just my opinion though. I'm a novice. Don't listen to me. Lol... it's not dangerous to the snake and from what I've seen, it just makes life easier.

You never said they should. I never said you did. But you were definitely implying that snakes will do it because they prefer to or like to, and I just don't really agree with that.

if you have the hides in the proper area across the temperature gradient, they won't have to risk their bodies by moving a heavy rock hide or whatever the case may be.

I love how some of you take time to make the cages look very nice. I can't ever seem to do it, and when I try I'm always like blah it looks like crap so I usually end up doing away with it all.

My caging is part of the hobby for me. I enjoy the habitat as much as I enjoy the animals. I have a room that is dedicated to my snakes and personal relaxation.

The cages have perches, backgrounds, plants, day and night lighting and some other treats.








Everything is easily broken down for cleaning however I only have 4 snakes. Providing naturalistic setups becomes more work when you are keeping/breeding multiple animals. Spot cleaning is key for daily maintenance which keeps things fairly sterile until I do a major overhaul that includes high powered vacuuming wet sterilization, drying and resetting the cage back to its display quality.

I set my collection limit at 4 animals. Snakes that I really wanted and was very interested in, then went from there with the caging.

I usually catch all of the animals exhibiting behaviors that they wouldn't display if set up without the options I provide.
