    Black Honduran Milk Snake

Well I went to the store today to get a few fuzzy mice and some mealworms and came home with this a Black Honduran Milk Snake (Lampropeltis triangulum hondurensis) he is 2 years old in aug. He was bread by the store owner and sold to a military couple(much like me) as a baby. Well they are PCSing real soon and will be on base housing at there next base so cant keep the snake, they dropped it off with mike(store owner) with complete shed and feed records for the last 2 years. He showed it to me and I just had to have it he is a awsome animal.
Here he is. He is about 5 1/2' long with about 1-2' left to go and a bunch of weight to put on him. His parents are huge, and his great grand pappa isnt any light weight either.

will get a few other pics tomorrow when my wife can run the camera.

Are you sure thats not a Black Milksnake (Lampropeltis triangulum gaigae)? They are closely related to Hondurans, and as babies they are tri-colored but turn into solid black adults. If that is indeed a Honduran, its quite possibly the darkest specimen ever lol.

They're one of my favorites, too. I told my kids they could get a pair this year, but of course they want the babies so we're waiting for some to hatch.
