Cage question for Itachi my IJ carpet

So I befriended my locally owned pet store owner and he let me know that they got in a used reptile cage that would be perfect for my carpet python. I had him put my name on it but I'm a little worried. It's 4 foot long, 18 inches wide, and 36 inches tall. It has a heating pad on the bottom that does work and sliding doors that would give me easy access. The problem I'm having is that it has a cracked bottom that is on the outside not the inside and they taped it and it has some wood damage. Is it worth the $100 for me to get it and try to fix it for my carpet or should I just save up for an AP cage?

here's some pics I took of it at the store (they marked it sold to me for now but I can always pass):

A close up up of the crack and wood damage:

Well if your carpet is anything like mine, a UTH or heat tape will be worthless as mine goes on the ground to poop and then shes back up onto her pvc gym. I use CHE for her above her her pvc gym and will use a RHP for her once I get her a AP T12. Me personally, I'm not a fan of large glass tanks/cages as they tend to be very heavy and much more fragile than a pvc cage plus they don't hold heat as well and it takes a lot more work to make them work as well as a pvc cage. The crack on the bottom makes me worry as there is no structural reinforcement so placing substrate plus whatever else on there is going to put pressure on that spiderweb crack. I would save up for a AP cage. They are awesome and I was planning on a T12 for my jungle girl with a shelf and i'll rebuild her pvc gym even bigger to fit in the cage better.

I'd personally save up for the AP cage. With such a large crack, it should be nearly free- but at $100, you just need a couple hundred more to get a brand new and perfect AP.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking. That crack has me worried and they kept saying it would be fine but I don't know I like to have a lot of branches for my carpet to climb and I don't like the look of the wood damage either. I don't use a heat pad for my carpet right now he has a CHE on top of his cage since he is either in his branches or curled up in his hide. I'll just keep saving for the AP!
