I'm happy you went through the thread Adult GTP really are a very low-maintenance and inexpensive species to keep (as in... don't poop or pee much, and don't move much lol) once you have the humidity and heating right. I would encourage you to get one if you want one, but I'm always going to be an enabler haha

I think the biggest issue with keeping Gtp's is that most people want to save money so they buy an import over a captive bred specemins and they get neonate instead of adults because they believe it will be easier to "tame" them. In reality a dehydrated neonate gtp is going to have a high failure rate even with the most experienced keepers.
I applaud you Redshepherd for doing it the responsible way and cutting your teeth on a captive bred healthy adult. She is beautiful and I enjoy your posts of her.

It was just that one time! Literally no clue why it happened and nobody has been able to explain it lol. I and another person guessed it's like a fear/safety reaction, maybe being caught by a predator and holding on as tightly as possible to the tree...? No idea LOL. So I haven't really handled her ever since, I'd only take her out with her perch while she's sleeping to take some pics.

Haha she is like a green alien! I call her a robot. Yes, this was actually after she already ate. I moved, and she looked up again like WHERE IS MORE FOOD, so I took that pic haha

Yeah, it is more difficult to start with a neonate. I realized most "average pet owners" who have an imported/farm bred animal just didn't learn about the differences between CB and WC. Or I'll bet everyone will want to go with CB.
Thanks! I also mainly had really wanted a CB with a lot of white and blue, which is sort of a crapshoot starting with a neonate.

I don't take her out often recently! But she just looks so neat in different kinds of lighting vs. in her cage.

I love the GTPs but the attitude discourages me from venturing into them. Is good to know that there is a rout to having a calm one that is easier to handle.
