    Ruppel Pastel Calicos

After doing a lot of research, I would like to introduce the worlds first Ruppel Line Pastel Calicos. I was lucky enough to hatch out two males. These guys are taking their sweet time shedding, hatched out on July 20th and still haven't shed out. One of the Ruppel Calicos shows why they are nicknamed stonewashed pastels, his black is almost completely washed out. I have been selectively breeding my pure Ruppel Pastels into other morphs, so far I've produced the Ruppel Calicos, Ruppel Genetic Stripe, Ruppel Het Yellow Hypo. Next year I will be trying to produce Ruppel Het Pied and Ruppel Het Clowns.

Tell us more about the Ruppel Pastel... It's your own pastel line?

    Re: Ruppel Pastel Calicos

The Ruppel Pastel was founded by a guy named Stan Ruppel. It was originally called Stonewashed Pastel, but he changed the name. From my experience with the Ruppel line, it tends to keep it's color very well. This the Ruppel Genetic Stripe that I hatched out last year, he's around 700 grams in the picture.
