I assume you've seen this, but if not, it has a few nice examples of the coloring variations and localities. Links to a pdf.

    Re: Tanami the Woma Python

    Thank you for the link.

My husband got a new DSLR and took a bunch of good photos last week, I just need to sort out which are the best, crop, and do any needed tweaks (color/light/exposure correction).

    Tanami the Woma Python

One of the pictures husband took a month ago:

And my version - I converted it to black and white, messed with contrast, scaled, printed it out, traced it to get the scale patterns, then inked and colored it.

Tanami keeps growing. I was thinking he was getting chubby, but when I had him out Sunday evening he had a nicely-defined backbone. He's so obviously not a climber that its funny sometimes. Here he is exploring the back of the couch, after checking out my head.

More Tanami pictures, trying for a sense of his size, with bonus Pippin.

This handsome fellow must be about a year and a half old now, huh? He is looking amazing! I finally got a pair of hatchling Womas a couple months ago (Sheila and Steve-O) and I just absolutely adore them! I can't wait to see lots of little orange and yellow heads popping out of eggs in a couple of years!

Yes, about a year and a half old. Still a sweetheart, and a great feeder - he actually takes a couple/few seconds to smell/think about it, then strikes.

How often are you feeding him? I've been feeding mine every 7 days and they're doing great. But, i'm a little concerned about the possibility them developing fatty liver disease over time, due to captive bred rodents being rich in fat. This is mentioned in the PDF link that Kat shared...

It is my understanding that as long as you avoid overly fatty rats like jumbos and you feed them just enough to keep them from getting overweight they will be fine.
Fatty liver comes from power feeding as youngsters in order to get them to breeding size faster.
Ours womas have been on rats since we have gotten them but we feed meals just big enough to show a slight bulge. When they were on hoppers we fed them about every 5 days now that they are a bit older (about 18 months) they get a small rat every 7 days. This has yielded a steady growth rate but they all maintain the nice shape with a defined dorsal line and by no means are overweight. The only difficulty in this is they are always hungry and handling without getting bitten was fun. They have just recently began to mellow out and have become quite pleasant to handle. They are super active and come out to you when you open the enclosure door.
On a side note, one our females (the most voracious feeder) appears to have a throwback from what appears to be the larger woma local. Her pattern is just like her siblings however her head is identical to the nearly patternless one in the pdf you posted. The head is elongated and the eyes are much smaller in relation to the head than the other two.
