Save a toe!
After getting the residual shed off, my poor leo has a purple toe all the way up to her pad. Is there any way to save the toe? Thanks for the help!

Re: Save a toe!
Probably not much you can do if the toe is already purple. It means it is already starting to die. If she will let you hold her, can you lightly pinch the toe and see if she pulls back. If she does, it means there is still feeling sensation in the toe. You can try soaking in warm water to see if that will help get the circulation back. But if it does continue to turn dark purple/black, then there isn't much hope for the toe, and it will fall off on its own. Signs of infection from the dying toe could include the purple color including more toes, a bad smell, lethargy, not eating/drinking, etc. Try to keep her nice and warm, and keep the area clean. If you see the toe has fallen off, apply some neosporin so the area doesn't get infected.
I hope she gets better for you. Good luck with her, and I bet she feels alot better without all of that stuck shed on her.

Re: Save a toe!
Thanks! Thankfully she is very accepting of handling. I am going to try soaking it now.
