    Heat question

I found an old 100w bug foiler bulb. It has a yellow tint over it and puts out some good heat so i was wondering if it would be a good bulb for night time use because i need the additional heat? Thanks.

    Re: Heat question

Not just any bulb can be used as a night light. The best thing to do is buy a herp. specific night light. You can find them at just about any pet supply place, or even walmart(look by the regular bulbs....they are labeled for reptiles....GE brand..reptile rays). Most reptile lights are either black or red bulbs.

Daniel hit the nail on the head. That (bug) bulb would be visible to a BP and the constant light would really stress them out. The red bulbs are generously warm and would probably suit your needs - but bulbs do tend to suck all the moisture out of the air they can. You using a UTH as well?
