    Rockett the Super Puppy

Rockett will be a whole 1 year old next month and it really is a miracle that he's still alive. We got him from a breeder who sold him to us with a clean bill of health. Less than a week after bringing him home, he stopped eating and had horrible diarrhea, a fatal combination for a puppy that weighed less than a pound.

After numerous vet visits and reassurances that he would be fine, I woke up one morning and he was barely breathing, and couldn't even lift his head. We rushed him to an e-vet who immediately got him on fluids and told us his blood sugar was so low they couldn't register a number. The vet told us if we had waited even an hour longer, he would have died.

Turned out he had coccidia, a parasite that the breeder should have been aware of and told us about when she sold him. Words can't describe my hatred for this woman, who didn't care enough about her puppies to make sure everything was well before she sold him. When we told her about Rockett's issues she told us we could have our money back, as long as we gave her the dog back. Like heck we would!

After a night in the hospital, we got Rockett back and he was a completely different puppy! He had energy, and a light in his eyes that we hadn't seen since we brought him home. Now he's nonstop and always going, a picture of perfect health.

Sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to share Rockett's story with his birthday coming up. Here's some pictures

Well that is one Bithday that you will look forward to!

Great ending to a sad story. I'm biting my tongue about expressing my opinion about that breeder.

    Cute pup!

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

    Re: Rockett the Super Puppy

Oh please feel free I've called her every name under the sun since this all went down. Our e-vet (my hero) recommended taking legal action to get our money back and the hundreds we had to spend getting him healthy but in the end we decided against it. It's a decision I regret still because I personally don't think she should be allowed to breed anymore. But Rockett is healthy and in the end money doesn't matter, I'd spend it all again to make my baby healthy.

    Thanks!

Beautiful, we used to have a papillion and he had more energy then any other dog I've ever known. Who was this breeder if I could ask? (PM me if you don't want to publish it on the forum) also being from MN I'd like to know who to steer people away from.

Thanks guys! I don't know what I'd do without my little hyper butt he will always be on the small side because of all of the issues (maxed out at five and a half pounds) and he can't hop on the couch but I wouldn't trade him for anything
