Help me please with Lesser Crystals.

    Hi guys,

I have a really big headache about my Special X Lesser Pastel clutch. When the first pipped I was sure I hit the 3 gene baby, but after the fourth, I was confused. Now after their shed, I'm still confused. All of them have yellow tint, and really slight difference under black light. A breeder whom I really trust said, he's sure all the 4 have pastel in. What do you think?

I have a mojave x lesser that i bought with the possibility of pastel in her that looks similar to what you are seeing. I have not had her under blacklight yet but I will take a look look tonight if I get chance. Welcome to the difficulties of breeding BELS. I actually wish my girl did not have pastel in her. It adds absolutely nothing to the morph as far as I am concerned.

The Lesser crystals are easier to take apart than Mojave X Lesser/Butter. They're really not that white. You can see the pattern without black light too, but of course much less than in a normal (Mojave) Crystal.

    congrats! they're adorable!

i took some black light pix of some of my BP's also, but mine didn't turn out as nice as yours.

anyway i'm trying to figure out what i see in the black light photos. i see dorsal markings/striping and eye stripes. now the pink pattern coming up from the belly - are those flames or long, reduced alien heads along he sides? and above that - blushing between the pink and dorsal?

i would guess there's Pastel for the fact that even under black light, your four's pattern do not resemble a highly visible pattern Lesser Crystal. also i would expect more blue-greyish eyes. these eyes are dark, maybe being influenced by Pastel eyes?

I think that pink pattern coming up, it's more like flames. I can see the reduced doughnuts or alien heads just under the dorsal pattern. The eyes are darker blue with a really light spot, just the upper part of the eye. I'll try to make a closeup.

I see not too much people here in crystals
For later reference, what I was told: With Lesser crystals, the heads get much more "dirty" look, not that plain white and the body have more color also.
