Getting back in the game, found my old 41qt rack plans

Putting together a eight 41qt sideways melamine rack setup. Don't have pics of the old one but hopefully it comes out the same.

-two 17x60 pieces for the sides
    -nine 17x34.5 pieces for shelves
    -one 34.5x4 piece for kickplate
    -36x60 piece of pegboard
    -wood screws
    -melamine edging and edging tool
-two 5 foot pieces of metal conduit with brackets
    -eight 41 qt sterelites

And then bedding, bowls, cords and flexwatt.

Took me a few hours to put together last time. Just hoping the home depot saw is working so the dude can make all the cuts I need.

See if your Home Depot stocks the half inch PVC sheet instead of melamine - it will make a lighter-weight rack that holds up better to humidity. Only downside is that it's pricier.

Oh damn yeah I'll check that out. I'm assuming wood screws will work ok and they can still cut it on the machine?

Yes it cuts, drills, and screws nicely. You can also get PVC cement for stronger joins (glue it and screw it).

Well they didn't stock it and any of the specialty stores wanted $$$$$$... So melamine for this one. Didn't get home till 830 this evening because the dude cutting it took 9 million years. Also screwed up so I only got 6 shelves and I forgot edge trim... Blah. Just got it functional for the new arrival tomorrow. Will finish it tomorrow or thurs. Actually have enough room for 3 more slots. Need to order herpstat too. Using the poor man's rheostat till it gets here.

At least it's all level and melamine kind of adjusts itself as you put it together so it all looks pretty even.

Yep and pegboard/melamine/misc was under $100 with a few discounts at Lowe's. No cheaper way to house medium sized snakes and its not bad looking either. Wish I could find reasonable pvc to make it out of tho.
