    Exclamation Corn snake raising head?

my corn snake seems to stare off into nothing. I thought maybe ri because of the raised head but he isn't making any noise and his mouth is clean. Any thoughts? [IMG][/IMG]

Sounds like "star-gazing". It's a serious illness that's in the central nervous system. Don't take my word though, wait for someone more advanced to show up. For now, look up "ball python periscoping", and see if it's anything that your corn does. Good luck!

Stargazing in corns is different from stargazing in the pythons. In the corn community it refers to a heritable vestibular syndrome, not a contagious disease. He's probably just looking around. Quite of a few of my corns do this from time to time.

It sounds completely normal to me. Don't read to much into it or you'll panic yourself for more than likely no reason at all. My snakes like to "stand up" quite often.

My albino girl, Ezra, does the same thing. I was a little concerned at first, but she appears absolutely healthy in every other way, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My corn snake does this especialy on feeding day, she can smell the defrosting mouse from the next room. She also loves to telescope and flick her tongue while i work on top of her tank, shes like a dog always ready for a treat.
