Hello all.. I've been reading on these forums for a little bit now, just haven't posted. But today I feel as though I should, recently I had to house my garter snake in a tub, which i didn't notice there was a bigger gap in the back then the front and he was able to slide his little body out of the tub. I searched high and low for hours last night. I woke up this morning and found him in our living room which we are re-modeling. Because we just taped and mudded the new sheet rock there is paper duck taped to the floor. We'll he managed to get all twenty inches of his body completely and painfully stuck to the tape. I was so sad for him, I spent about an hour ever so carefully removing him from the tape with the tip of a pencil. He is okay. But for him and I it was a lucky experience to end how it did, because I know it could have been much worse for him. I feel bad for him and hope he makes a fast recovery from this traumatic experience.
I've read posts and warnings about tape in or around enclosures.
I wanted this post to pretty much be the same, a warning but with an example as well, now that I think of it pictures would have been good to help illustrate and teach others(they would not have looked pretty), but in the moment I never thought about it as i knew I needed to help him as fast as possible.
Sincerely, Roy..
