    Sex in snakes

guys i have the Dr. Mark Seward's - Determining Sex in Snakes

Learn how to tell the sex of any snake, safely and accurately with the techniques of probing and poping.
i don't have the probing tools so amtrying to find the sex with the popping method. the probing method is dangerous so i select the popping. am trying to do alla of i saw in the video . the snake doesn' allow me . he/she catch strong muscles. can't explaint itn
someone told me that you must hatching the snake for some time with some method to relax.
in my country we do not have reptile experiance.
    what i must do?
the snake is 1 year old

i'm not an expert on this by any stretch of the imagination. that being said, i was under the impression that "poping" only works to determine sex if the snake is a hatchling and it won't work if the snake is more than roughly a month old. after that, you have to probe to determine sex.

Yes, popping anything older than a month or so is not only very difficult, but potentially dangerous. Especially if you have no experience with it. If you can, have a reptile vet probe it for you, or invest in a set of probes. They are not expensive.

if you do not have a place around that specifically sells reptile probes, check some medical supply places....the will most likely have something good to use.just look around on the net....and find something similar.

I regularly pop ball pythons of all ages. There is nothing dangerous about it.

    Re: Sex in snakes

popping older snakes is more of an art than a procedure .. dont force it .. try some hatchlings first to develope the proper technique.. in order to pop an older animal it HAS to be relaxed

No...stick to snake probes, not misc. medical instruments. There are several places where you can order them online.

    www.beanfarm.com

    etc...
