    Cobra Kills Pop Star

well that wasn't smart. u gotta respect the animals. still sad tho, she was only 29.

An Indonesian pop star died after a snake, which was part of her act, bit her. Irma Bule was famous for using venomous snakes and reptiles, but one of her king cobras fatally bit her, mid-performance. However, instead of seeking treatment, the singer continued performing, until she collapsed in front of a stunned crowd.

Indonesian pop star Irma Bule is dead after suffering a fatal bite from a king cobra. The extremely dangerous snake was part of her act on stage. Bule was bitten during the second song of her set at a regionally held concert. The pop star was performing in the village in Karawang, West Java, which is east of Jakarta, in her native Indonesia, reported Fox News.

However, Bule not only turned down treatment, she even refused to stop the show. After suffering the snake bite, the pop star continued performing for more than 45 minutes, but then collapsed in front of her utterly shocked audience. Though she was rushed to a hospital, it was too late and the pop star was declared dead.

why have dangerous animals in a show if you don't take proper steps for safety. Sad ending but ultimately a result of human error

Its pretty simple. Don't mess with Venomous Snakes. Not sure how stupid you have to be not to realize that.

I guess she lacked priority... in many ways...

    Re: Cobra Kills Pop Star

Now hold on guys, how many of you have reads Times take on the story?

    http://time.com/4286323/irma-bule-sn...dut-indonesia/

Definitely adds a little more depth.
Its a shame, but to call someone stupid over it? Careless perhaps, but to question ones intelligence seems a bit extreme.
However, one aspect in that article of times is that they mention duct taping the snakes mouths shut, that strikes me as cruelty.

But it is a sad ending. Not only for those who lost someone close to them, but now to add fuel to those less understanding people who 'fear' snakes fears... ive already had multiple coworkers message me linking the story saying "you should get rid of those dangerous disgusting monsters you call pets before you get killed by them".

Its unfortunate and proper safety should have been implemented, but she also refused the treatment that would have helped her.

DMExotics has an interesting video that takes place somewhere like Indonesia (can't remember). Basically there is one whole village that seems to keep these cobras as pets. There is a lot of footage of them. Odd sub-species...I don't know, but they were VERY tame. At one point, our narrator gets in a cab with a guy who is just basically holding one in his hands.

If you came from that background, it would probably seem like no big deal.
