Exclamation my 1st problem w/ my bp

i've had my bp for about 3 months now and everything has been great. i would handle the bp often and it never tried to snap at me until today. i walk in my room and i guess it saw me walk in, so it got out of its hide and moved up to the glass. as i got closer i saw it snap at me but it hit the glass. i put my finger on the glass and it would follow it and keep on trying to snap at me. i dont think its that it's hungry because i would feed it once a week (every monday) until last thursday when i decided to feed it twice a week (mondays and thurday). i always feed it outside of the tank, in a different container and it always ate the mouse but since it obviously wasnt happy with me i didnt want to grab it so i just fed it in the tank for the first time, and it probably took down the mouse faster than ive ever seen it do. i feed it live mice. anyone have any advice?

hard to say , it might just be hungry. does the one mouse leave a little lump in the snake?

Woke up on the wrong side of the tank? I had baby snakes do that. I think that they think everything is out the get them. Other people have commented about this same topic. I would like to know if their snakes ever "grew" out of it. Maybe Adam will know since he has raised so many from babies to adult. So how about it adam do notice that they grow out of it?
    Thanks,

Usually ... many ball pythons will get "wierd" when they are sub-adults ... kinda like teenage angst ... couple of hundred grams and it's usually all over. Sometimes they are just rotten their whole lives. The more ball pythons you work with the more you learn that each snake has it's own personality.

Ball pythons with teenage type angst...okay that's it I now have terrible visions of my future ball pythons jacking my car to go out with their snakey friends, having to dig my cell phone outta their hide where they left it, or one snake whining that the snake in the next cage is "looking at me WIERDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!".

LMAO (can you tell I have teenagers or what?)

Sounds like he was just a bit frightened. Those quick defensive strikes are really not always a sign of hunger. I have a little rottie of a BP who will do that too. I keep him in a rubbermaid that's not really seethrough, so he ahs some privacy; some just seem a bit more high strung than others.
