Blonde Pastel?
I just wanted to know what people's opinions were (or if they had heard of it) of the blonde pastel ball python.
I don't know of any pictures at the moment, and I'm at work, so I can't search for some. I know one person at the swap who has a pair for sale. They're beautiful, but I wanted to know what other people though, and if other people had acutally heard of them.

Re: Blonde Pastel?
i've seen some pics of a few and they are brighter and lighter toned, but i don't know if the extra price is worth it. i have seen some nerd line lemons and they look nice. my pastel is my stepping stone to the super for me. i can't afford a super so i'll have to breed my own.

My brother has a pair and they lose the blonde look and turn darker over time.

Re: Blonde Pastel?
I've seen a bunch of blondes ... Actually, I remember when Matt Turner proved the original male out many years ago. The male that he imported from Africa was stunning as an adult, but no more so than the best looking NERD Lemons, Grazianis, or line whatever.
The thing you have to realize with pastels is that the "lines" are 50% truth and 50% marketing.
Every line (blonde, lemon, graziani, etc) is capable of throwing AMAZING looking pastels and every line also can throw clunkers. I always tell people that their best bet is to look at as many pictures of adult and babies of as many lines as they can and pick out what they think is best. From there, your best bet is to invest in the best looking pastel that you can afford from the line that you like.
All lines aside, there is one absolute truth .... beautiful pastels are more likely to produce beautiful babies than ugly pastels.
Look at lots of pictures ... shop around until you can't stand it anymore ... and buy the best looking pastel that you can find. You'll be all set!
Hope this helps.

Re: Blonde Pastel?
there's alot of great advice above.
but, it still boils down to personal preference, availablity, and dead presidents.
blondes may have the color in thier youth, but, a nicely banded pastel will have character for a lifetime........

If you know what to look for, it's definitely possible to pick out a pastel with colors for a lifetime as well!
