    Size and weight question

I have a year old ball python. Does anyone know about how much she should weigh and how big she should be?
Her growth may or may not have been stunned by an illness one time. She keeps shedding every few weeks, but she's not getting much fatter, even though she's eating rats now.
    Thanks.

    Re: Size and weight question

1-2 lbs or 500-1000 grams is the ballpark. It really depends on how much they decide to eat their first year.

My yearling female is over 1300 grams now, but she was eating medium rats at around 9 months of age. She then went on a winter fast (probably because she had been eating med rats) and just recently started eating on a consistant basis again. Just sticking to small rats or mice this season for her. I'm leaning towards the smaller meals make a better eater side of the prey size issue.

    Re: Size and weight question

Thanks. That helped a lot. I just weighed her and she could use to be a little bit bigger, she's around the 500-600 range. She didn't eat much the first year, but she's started to eat rats so she should be caught up before to long.
