Yes rats should be kept in pairs or more.

How on earth did you search for pet rat care and not come up with like... a million pages?

    Weirdo.

here's the first page that came up:

    http://www.petratscanada.com/ratcare.htm

    and the third:

    http://www.petwebsite.com/rat_care.htm

If you hit a snag, and have a specific question, just shoot.

Go here too www.rattiusmaximus.com and www.warmfuzziesrattery.com
Email them if you have any questions. Chrissy is the RattiusMaximus owner and Marie is the Warm Fuzzies Rattery owner. They are both very nice.

www.martinscages.com is a great place to get a rat cage. If you do buy one here, definately get powdercoated, galvanized rusts, and the painted ones get the paint chewed off which could be toxic.
Hope that helped. Definately read up on what you are getting into, it's not hard, but can get a little expensive when you are first getting everything set up. Like Shelby said, if you have a question, just ask.
