    sweet!

wow, u witnessed the brith of a baby Giraffe?! that's amazing. did it take place in the public viewing area or did they let u in behind the scenes for that? lol poor baby looks like it dropped from some height tho.

i remember reading as a kid that the Chinese Alligator is the only other species of Alligators besides the American one we have here.

also that golden-yellow rattlesnake is beautiful! and Cobras are always awesome.

good times! thanks again for sharing.

The birth took place in the public. But the keepers gave the giraffe the choice, they had a little area that was penned of in front of the open barn door so the mom could chose if it wanted to go in the barn or stand in the public viewing area. She chose the public area, which was good for everyone watching.

Yeah the baby had quite a fall but baby giraffes are built for that, it stood up within 30-45 mins.

Yeah we have a huge elephant enclosure. We have 3 Africans and 3 Asians, they all live together. They are all pretty old too, its kind of like an elephant retirement home. Haha but they are still really cool. I don't remember 2 elephants taking a vacation at the zoo but I probably just missed them.

Very cool, thank you for sharing. I love the zoo... even more as an adult than I did as a child.

Those rattlesnakes... they just look bad @$$. I love the look of rattlesnakes... behind glass, or from afar.
