Tank Real Estate Question

Here's my tank layout from above. My BP is 3 months old and about a foot long when stretched out. This is a 10 gallon tank. My question is do you think there's enough space for him to eat? He's not eating and I'm not sure if it's because he simply doesn't have enough room to dine.

Any other feedback is welcome.

he's got room to eat. My bp will often poke her head out of the hide, see the mouse, hit it, wrap it up, then eat it with half of her body still in the hide, then she retreats back to the hide. What are your temps on the warm side, and cool side? You may also want to consider putting some dark paper or something on 2-3 sides of that tank. It will make your bp feel a little more secure. The less threatened and more secure they are, the better they'll feed.

88 on the warm side. Tank humidity hovers around 53%. I'll get some black paper today, that's consistent feedback I get on my setup.

If you want, you could give him matching hides as well. something a little smaller than the one on the right, and put one on both sides. I know it doesn't look as "fun" as the log that's in there, but that's really all they need. then they can move from the warm side to the cool side and still be in a hide they feel comfortable in.

I'll consider that, though he seems to love climbing and stretching out on the log.

I think you cover those three sides and you'll be amazed the difference it makes. Ive used 10 gallons for babies and they seem to be about the perfect size.

I agree with the others, cover 3 sides, it'll help. I would also just stick another hide under the branch, as long as the snake can get to the opening. And they really do like hides tight, I've seen some that would rather wear one as a hat than use a bigger hide.

If you cover the back and two sides i bet he will use the log hide. I have one that likes to hide under a piece of driftwood in the back of his tank more that the hide i have for him. There is nothing wrong with the hide as he uses it often during shed but other than that he likes his driftwood lol.

Ok all, I'll use posterboard on the outside so I can take it off for cleaning. I think I'll do the left side and back and see what that does. He does hide in the bottom of the log, it's a hide that goes all the way back.
