Well,I was thinking of not getting a colombian boa at all.I really like the look of bloods and was wondering,if they would be good for an 11 y/o kid like me?

P.S:It really doesn't have to be for KLG,but shes the only blood expert I know here.

    Bloods...for KLG

Well I have never had one, but I've done some research. If you get one from a reputable breeder.. like NERD, then it should be ok. Make sure you get one with a good temperament, some can be pretty nasty. Mostly WC ones, but be sure to get one from a good place.

Be aware they can get quite large.. weighing in at 40 pounds sometimes.

They have more exacting husbandry requirements than BCIs, but if you've kept other snakes healthy for a period of time, I don't think you'd have any trouble there.

Yes, you're right, they do. I was thinking the red bloods.

I say get your enclosure all set up, make sure you can keep the temps and humidity just right first (you'd probably do that anyway)

If you get a baby, know that they like a small enclosure, so don't get all big and fancy just yet.

Hmm.. well for a baby I'd use a shoebox size enclosure, but since they're so heavy bodied when they're adults 3 feet seems a bit small. I'd wait for KLG to answer that one for sure though.

An enclosure half the length of the snake is bare minimum.

I think the NERD caresheet says a minimum of 4 feet in length for the enclosure.
