    Cleaning my BP

Hi, I was wondering what a good way to disenfect my snake would be? I heard bathing them with soap isn't a good idea, someone mentioned using wiping the snake down with water and chlorhexidine and someone else mentioned using hydrogen peroxide. I'm asking because my BP slithered all over some rat pee and poop. How exactly would I use chlorhexidine or hydrogen peroxide to clean her? Would I wet a towel with it and wipe my snake down? I'm a bit of a germ freak so I really just wanted to know if it's possible to clean her off. If its harmful then I'll just avoid cleaning her off, thanks.

personally I rarely clean my snakes, I just wipe them down with a wet paper towel if they're real dirty, but a chlorhexidine gluconate solution is fine if you feel the need. Dentists use it as an oral rinse so I imagine it's pretty safe. I use it to soak my snakes water bowls.

I might try that once I find some. Is hydrogen peroxide also safe?

I think it's fine but I've never used it.

Chlorhexidine solution is easy to find online and not ridiculously expensive, when diluted as directed a little bit goes a long way. ---> chlorhexidine

    Re: Cleaning my BP

I use Healthy Habitat from Natural Chemistry for all the cleanings including cleaning the snakes themselves if necessary. A gallon of that stuff last me at least a couple of months and I don't worry about diluting any harmful chemicals. Been using it for a couple of years now and so far so good.
