    Caudimordax

Yesterday was cage-cleaning day, which includes rearranging/changing some of the cage furnishings. Caudimordax, my tangerine Honduran, seems to approve of the "dinosaur eggs" my husband gave him.

I got Caudimordax on August 1st, at about a year old. He was obnoxious - musking, peeing, and biting. Not fear/defensive bite and release, he'd hold on and *chew*. But his last shed about a month ago seems to have flipped a switch in his brain, and he's become a nice boy. He's can still be a little bit flighty, and he's fast, but if you don't mind that he's now pleasant to handle.

    Cute little face.
    I like the eggs.

I'm hoping my kings calm down. Getting pooped on every time (lately) isn't fun.

One of mine struck and hung on too. Twice. I do have to empathise, however - the first time was when he was first found, and stuck in a sticky trap. The second time I was trying to get the last of a stuck shed off his tail. Funny how a bite from an animal all of one foot long, and less than the diameter of my index finger can cause the heart rate to go up.

    Re: Caudimordax

We got the eggs at Reptile Rapture, in Monona, WI.

I lost count of the number of times Caudimordax got me before he reformed. The most egregious was when I had him out after a shed, and I realized that he was bumping his snout along my hand looking for the perfect . . . place . . . to . . . CHOMP!

    Re: Caudimordax

Caudimordax has grown a lot since I lst posted. He back-slid a little on behavior after a period of less handling, but was good about me getting some stuck shed off his head yesterday. He wrapped and sqeezed my wrist pretty tight, and chomped the paper towel once, but didn't go for me, despite opportunities. No musking/peeing/pooping, either. Wouldn't show his handsome face for pictures, though.

Thank you, I really like that, too! His looks definitely made up for his personality when he was in his juvenile delinquent phase.
