    reptile carpet?

I used it for awhile, but decided to toss it,newspaper is sooo much easier for me.

Yes it can be misted, i found that it held humidity quite well.

The repti carpet stuff is really a bad idea.. It will hold bacteria in and is a pain to clean and disenfect... Go with some Disposable cage liners...

I've been using ESU terrarium "carpet" for years with no issues. I would think the only way you would run into bacteria is if you where not washing it thoroughly. I always wash the piece before its ever used and of course when cleaning enclosures. It lasts forever with reptiles that cant tear it up with claws and cleans easily. This material isn't something that would hold in alot of moisture to cause bacteria to grow either so you should take note of that when looking. That being said you now know the use of such material should be enclosure specific. Since its not super thick its not a humidity holder. I am using it in tubs and it works great. Although I am considering changing over to litter for the winter.

ive used astro turf (pretty much the same as reptile carpet) on all 3 of my snakes ever since i got them. never had a problem with it. if you use it, make sure you have 2 or 3 extra pieces though, so you have something to replace dirty peices.

I used astro turf when we first got Sophie, but ended up ditching it for papertowels and newspaper (for some reason I use papertowels for Soph and newspaper for all the rest, not sure why that is)..anyway, the carpet was too inconvenient for me, much easier to just toss and replace the paper type substrate. Nothing wrong w/using it though, all depends on your preference. And as mentioned, make sure you clean/dry thoroughly and have a couple extra pieces on hand.

It looks better than newspaper for sure but when it comes to ease of cleaning, newspaper is the best substrate i think.

Yeah, it's nicer looking, but I also keep our snakes in sterilites, so appearance isn't of much importance I guess.
