Finally finish my first dart frog build

Well I had my old 55 gallon sitting around and decided I should do something with it...it took 3 months but I finally finished it this morning....no frogs in it yet, but there is a nice culture of springtails in there. The only thing I am unsure of is if the lighting is enough or if I should go with a bulb that covers the length of the tank...

    It's beautiful!
HLH had a recent frog video. I never had the SLIGHTEST interest in frogs before, but that one got me clicking around. I have spent a LOT of time the last several days on Josh's Frogs site looking at vivarium setups, plants, and even ...frogs.

    Looks great!

Is that great stuff foam you used before the coco? Layer?

I think your light will do perfect. They like to hide regardless, so giving them a less lit area with some cover will do the trick!

Yea it's "great stuff" with a lot of coco fiber and moss silicone to it...do you think the plants on the edges of the tank will get enough light with this fixture?

If you're worried about how much light the plants are getting, I recommend getting a light meter. The light meter will tell you how intense the light is in the tank. It will also let you know when the light itself begins to produce less light and needs to be changed.

I have a light meter already on my list of things to get, my main concern was that dart frogs are generally under a canopy so I didn't want to blast them with tons of light, but I wanted to make sure the plants on the sides of the tank got enough to thrive and grow. The light is a T5HO 5.0 bulb so as far as UV output to the bottom of the cage is concerned I know it is good to go, I just was worried about overall length.
