I need to disinfect Shelby's tank so it's safe for another animal to live in it. Will nolvasan work (left on 15 mins), or should I use a 10% bleach? I also want to spray the general vicinity outside of the tank (floor walls etc etc) to make extra double triple sure everything harmful is dead. I don't think bleach would be a hot idea for that though (I don't want my floor all white) so is nolvasan suitable for that?

I would assume so. I just got some after reading how highly recommended it is in this fourm and others.

Nolvasan is a disinfectant - so yes it would work. 15-20 minutes (or longer) would be fine. Also, be sure you clean it first (hot soapy water). Cleaning must be done before disinfecting for best results - there is a difference between cleaning and disinfecting. A lot of people don't realize it and unfortunately don't do both.

Yeah, you have to scrub down to the surface first so the disinfectant can do it's work.

Ok, well thanks. A lot of scrubbing to do..
