    Unhappy R.I.P Helios

    Today I woke up to find my baby male retic, Helios, had passed away. I dont know what happened, everything was right with his enclosure (temps, humidity, etc.) he ate for me last week and i cleaned his tub and gave him fresh water 2 days ago and he seemed fine. i wish i would have known if something was wrong

    I'm so sorry.

    Sometimes there is no way to know if something is wrong. Reptiles are excellent at hiding illnesses - it's a survival mechanism - and retics in particular are tough and give few signs of anything wrong until it's too late.

    If you want answers put him in the refrigerator, get a necropsy done ASAP, and hope the vet finds something.

    my condolences.

    Helios was a beautiful boy. i agree that u need a necropsy to find out what happened and to prevent it from happening again.

    Awww no! I'm so sorry... My Brazilian Rainbow passed away unexpectedly a few months ago after 3 years with no problems, I know that feeling of helplessness. Sometimes even when you do everything right, crap happens. Take comfort in your other babies during this sad time. <3
