Re: Female sunglow poss het anery
I did have the surface temp at 100F for the last month she was on heat tape, but I felt that was excessive, even though she constantly hugged the heat. No belly burns or redness but oh well. I'll see how she does now.

Female sunglow poss het anery
Yeah that didn't seem to be enough for her so I turned up the heat and noticed no changes. Now with overhead heat I keep it at 90F. I never had Cloud on belly heat but he digests just fine with overhead. None of my others snakes kept on belly heat showed any problems. I'll keep that in mind with my next boa constrictor and have some back up ambients in case.

Well her pooping habits have stayed mostly the same (she did poop a little quicker last time though), but she went into shed quicker this time! I've also started staggering a jumbo adult mouse in every other feeding since the small adult mice no longer leave a bulge but the jumbos leave a larger bulge than I'm comfortable with. There's no scale separation, but it's a bit lumpy. Once the jumbos leave a smaller bulge, I'll order weaned rats. They're the closest equivalent size but they're actually a bit heavier and longer than jumbo mice, so it will be a size increase and I want her to put on some more size.
Looks like I forgot to post post-shed pictures from her last shed, sorry!
At first, a lot of the red in her side faded away, but she slowly gained it back before this current shed cycle.
The pink showed up a little better here. Still not as bright red as it usually is.
Eating her mouse upside down. And her little mustard-colored mustache, I love it.
Her tail empty from a massive dump.
1 day after her meal.
A weird phase she went through. She's still tipping over her hides, but doesn't lay in them. >.>
A weird feeding she had, where she ate a small adult mouse folded in half.
She bit herself and actually go her teeth stuck, but she was able to free her teeth on her own. Only my two boa constrictors have bitten themselves (that I've seen).
Relaxed after her meal.
Usually she hangs out on her vine, but there's been a few times she crawled onto the handle of the tub and fallen to the ground when I opened it. That doesn't make for a happy snake. haha
A massive dump she took. The second since she was put in her tub. Maybe 3 weeks since her last poop. So a bit faster, but not much.
She's now 29" long, but that was before she went into shed. I'll measure he when she's done and see if she's grown any more.
I had her in the bucket so I could dampen her bedding, but she really hates the bucket, and started zig-zagging and climbing the walls immediately after I put her in it. Since she behaved, I allowed her to sit on top of it, though. She just sat there nice and calm until I was done. It did still have some water left in the bottom from wetting River and Bud's bedding, so that may have made her uncomfortable, too.
Her eating a jumbo mouse. I gave it to her as a test to see if she'd be ready for weaned rats, since the small adults were looking kinda small. She was showing signs of a shed cycle, but I've had so many false positives in the past I fed her anyway. Turns out she was in shed.

Well with her last shed, Nymeria really coralled up! She's getting close to due for another one soon, so we'll see how much more color she gets! Her sides are a bubblegum pink in person, but they want to either not show up at all or look red in photos.
She measured 30" and 209 grams empty. She actually is starting to poop more often now, too. Right now I've got her on jumbo mice while I wait for her to gain a bit more size, and she'll be put on weaned rats.

Nymeria officialy hit 3', at 13 months old! She's finally on rats, and has taken her first weaned rat, she's going to take her second in a few days if she doesn't show any more signs of shedding. She looks to be going into shed, but it's hard to tell at this point. Her sides aren't bubblegum pink like they have been, they're dulled out, and in the flash photos she's looking a bit milky. She weighed in at 272 grams empty.

Nymeria shed again recently, weighing in at a whopping 302 grams, but doesn't appear to have gained any length. She was being very wriggly that day, though, as she had pooped. Hopefully soon she'll be ready for weaned rats, but I'm going to give her a few more jumbo mice before I attempt another weaned rat again.
Unfortunately there was little change in her colors from this shed beyond turning very yellow.

What's the difference between a sunglow and an albino? I see lots of both and also lots of sunglow albinos.
