    Age?

We just got a baby ball python and sexed her. She's a lovely little girl. About a foot and a half (18 inches). We got her a day after the pets smart got her. We are guessing that she's about 3 months old. Are we about correct?

Probably pretty close. Most retailers get them fairly young from their suppliers. Congrats on the new addition!

Here's some reading material so you can help your new little one get settled in, if you haven't found it already:

That's exactly what we used to help us start setting up her tank. Do you think that she would be able to tell the difference between my husband and me?

If so, certainly not in the same way that a more social animal (dog or cat) would. The best I hope for with my BPs is for them to not look at me like I'm some kind of Godzilla monster.

    Re: Age?

Could be he smelled like food (was he touching any other furry pets before this?). Could be she felt cornered. Could be he surprised her. Could be she's just a feisty little BP. Who knows. Tell him not to take it personally...

If you just got her, she might be scared. I would leave her alone in the tank for a week and make sure she's eating before you handle her.

Also, what heat source are you using? Whatever it is, be sure it's regulated. Have fun!
