I have kept and bred mice but my hatchling size BP couldn't keep up with the number of babies. I had a healthy supply of frozen mice in many sizes. My friend and neighbor has since bought a 5 foot long male BP and my slow growing BP is now 2.5 feet long and 400-500 grams. I would guesstimate that I could find a couple people who are willing to buy live or frozen ASFs in town. Sadly, our great local pet store will not and cannot keep live feeders of any kind. ASFs are legal to keep in Alberta but not regular rats. ASFs cannot handle our cold winters so they are allowed.
I don't want to be overcrowded with ASFs and I could sell them to the local pet sore, most likely as a store credit but that doesn't hurt my heart or pocketbook.
What would be the minimum number of snakes to feed for a 1:3 breeding colony? My BP easily eats 2 adult mice a week. My neighbour's BP eats 3-4 a week.
