This morning when I was changing Cali's water bowl, I found salt stuck in the bowl. I fill the bowl with luke warm tap water. Is it ok if I keep doing this? Or should I get some distilled water, and heat it up in the microwave?
Thanks
Garrett

Why do you heat up the water? Depending on what's in your water (if it were softened, for example) you might want to switch to a spring water, or you can try filling up a jug of water, letting it sit for a day and then use the water from that.
The idea between letting the water sit is that any chlorine traces (things like that) would dissipate out of the water before it was used as drinking water.

I change it ever day. It is under the ceramic heat lamp for humidity, and alot of the water is evapourated when I change it in the morning, So this morning I went and got water from our watercooler, and heated it up in the microwave. What I am really wondering is if that salt is going to hurt my snake

That "salt" is just the mineral desposits left over from the evaporated water. If the water is getting too warm though, you should probably give your snake another water dish on the cool side.

I don't know why you even warm up the water. I get water for my bp from my tap. I fill her bowl with cold water, and put it in her cage. By the time she even decides to sneak in and take a drink or bath or whatever, it's going to be room temperature, which is fine.

HI,
If your using that water dish for humidity maybe a second waterdish cool side would be good, my boa love cool fresh water and usally only drink right after changing, Mine will not drink luke warm or tepid tap water.
hey maybe they are picky..
