a guy that i (unfortunately) work with has a beautiful cat that he obtained several months ago. as far as i know she is between 9 months and a year old. through my own conversation with him and conversations he has had with other people, i have some concern over the well being of the cat. he has said things such as "i haven't gotten her fixed because i don't feel like spending money on a carry case" and "she wouldn't go on the porch for a few days, but i think it was because i left her out there for 3 days during the hurricane" and "she has worms, but she just eats them when she cleans herself." is this enough grounds for me to call animal control or some other agency that deals with animal cruelty? all i have to go on are his statements. i hate it that he has this animal and is obviously not giving it the care it needs. is there anything at all that i can do? unfortunately talking to this person and trying to reason with him is completely out of the question, as he is not able to accept any implication that he may be doing something wrong or questionable.

I am speaking from experience. Animal Control doesnt care about what you heard or personal transactions. You have to actually go to his house and see the animal in the condition it is in. You must also know there address for animal control to go and check out the animals living condition. Hopes this helps.

If it's some serious abuse going on, I'd try getting some footage of it on a video camera or still pictures.
He doesn't feel like getting the cat fixed, eh? Well eventually he'll have a bunch of kittens on his hands then.
Good luck; if I were you, I'd probably catnap the cat! (Not that I am condoning such actions, lol.)

ha yeah, my friend and i plotted to scale up his apartment building to his porch on the third floor and cut the screen so we could nab the kitty and give her a better home. i don't think there is horrid abuse going on, but things like leaving her outside during a hurricane and not doing anything about her having obvious worms just infuriates me nonetheless.
