question about quarantine

For some reason this JUST NOW came to my head.

As some of you know i will most likely be getting a new bp in about a week or so and ive heard horrible things about animals who seem healthy but really are not and it affects the rest of the snakes in the house.Right now i can not really put the snake in another room becuase my mom just wont let me, its crazy, ive told her about how important it is but she just isnt havin it.

so i guess my question is:Is it possible to keep the snakes in the same room and just be SUPER SUPER careful ??

I really really want this to work out but i dont want to be spreading any kind of diseases to my perfectly healthy snakes.

It's not an optimal way of doing it, but it can be done.

Seperate everything and move the cages as far from each other in the room as possible. Each cage and its contents should be cleaned on different days and each cleaning should have its own sponges, buckets, cleaners, etc. Ideally, feeding would occur on different days as well, but thats not always practical. If you must work with both animals on the same day, remember to work with your established animal first, then wash your hands and move on to the quarentined snake. Investing in some rubber/plastic gloves until the quarentine is over might also be helpful.

Like I said, it's not ideal, but it's better than nothing.

Yes, i plan on doing all of that stuff.I really wish i could simply just put the new guy in a differnt room but i just cant.

Nothing at all will be shared from tank to tank and i probobly wont even handle the snakes on the same day at all.And if i do ill make sure to spend extra time washing my hands and maybe even changing clothes if nessesary.

My biggest fear is that i get this new snake and it has some kind of virus or diease and then it affects my other snakes.But i think as long as im super careful i should be okay.......shouldent i ?

Personally ... i wouldnt keep them in the same room. But, if you absolutely have to .. Adam's suggestions are what i would do. I leave all my new additions in quarantine for at least 90 days.
