My baby corn snake hadn't eaten for 5 weeks, so this is quite a relief for me. I called Kathy Love, the breeder I got her from and the expert on corn snakes, and she gave me some good tips any of which might have caused her to eat again. I thought I'd share them in case anyone ever has a similar problem.

Other than the general husbandry I already had in tact she suggested:

-Switching to aspen shavings so that she could burrow. (I had her on paper towels before.)

-Put a light on a timer to get her on a good day/night schedule.

-Feed in a seperate, small enclosure so that she has nothing to concentrate on but the mouse.

-And here's the kicker: Since I had already tried braining to no avail, she told me to try cutting the pinky's head off (f/t of course.) It was gross, but it worked!

I'm so happy! I'm going to go drink a beer and celebrate!

Cutting the heads off of Hopper mice....yeah, that WOULD be a nasty experience...Can't you just imagine a squealing hopper mouse while you try to behead it...????
