how/why would an image such as this even be allowed??
Because the only content-related rules we have for the contest require that the entrant take the photo of his/her own animal, and that the photo must be appropriate for a family-friendly site. If you want to enter a photo that belongs on a list of "really bad ideas to try with your herp," that is still within the rules.

my appologies, but I just don't think it right. And there really is no defense in the case. We being mamals also cannot be compared to an animal such as a cat. We are not cats and cannot predict how they will react in the now or in the future. Case in point the boy who was attacted by the harmless dog...we've all heard it or something similiar.

I'll drop it here as I am knowingly off topic and my intent is not to create bad athmostphere.

I have to agree Tek. i cant figure out which of the two would be more unpredictable... lol
on another note.. why arent names being listed with the photos any more? Also wouldent be a bad idea to throw a divider between each pic and listing number as the way they are listed is a bit confuseing if your not paying close attention..

the pics are now being listed anonymously just to try to keep things as fair as possible. i agree about there being some kind of divider. maybe just a horizontal rule or something so it's not so hard to tell which number goes with which picture.

great photos this month everyone! several of these shots are very nice!
